Children, Youth, and Families

At St. Wilfrid's, spiritual formation and support for children, youth, and families is a top priority. Our CYF Commission plans programs for all ages of your family. Children have an egg hunt on Easter Sunday. Youth have a Movie Night together. The Women's Ministry meets to play Bunco, while the Men's Group hosts a Trivia Night. We coordinate a family event in which all ages come together to pack Kindness Bags to support our homeless community. Our goal is to provide opportunities for support and fellowship for every age group.

Sundays for Children

Visiting children are always welcome at the following children's programs.

Our Little Lambs program offers child care during both Sunday services throughout the year. This program is for toddlers to children 4 years of age. Little Lambs is hosted by one of our dedicated preschool teachers, and children will participate in Bible stories, art, and outdoor play (weather permitting). Children will rejoin families for the Eucharist.

Godly Play is St. Wilfrid's Sunday morning program for children 4 years of age to 5th grade. Hosted by a dedicated team of trained volunteers, this Montessori based program features Bible stories, manipulative play, art, and prayers. The program runs from September through May and is available during the 8:30am service. Children will rejoin families for the Eucharist.

Youth Group

Our Youth Group is dedicated to youths in 6th grade through high school. Our Youth Group offers a place for you to know God's love, just by being you. In our Youth Group, you will be able to explore your faith, ask what it means to be a part of the church and a Christian, and be embraced by God's love. During the school year, the youth groups meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month from 4:30pm to 6:00pm in our Youth Center. Other activities include our Acolyte program, mission and service trips, Camp Stevens summer camp trips, and outreach projects for the community.

Acolytes

Serving as an acolyte provides a happy, nurturing environment for our youth to take on positions of liturgical leadership as crucifiers, torchbearers, and thurifers for Sunday and special services.

All are invited to participate.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, volunteers come together to plan an exciting program for children who are entering kindergarten through those beginning sixth grade in the fall. Youth are invited to participate as assistants. The program runs for one week of learning and fun together.
