Adult Forum: All About Cursillo
Join Rev. Gary Graves for a presentation on the Cursillo program between services on Sunday, August 31st in Sacquety Hall.
Cursillo (a short course in Christian living) is an international movement, under the authority of the Bishop of each diocese, for strengthening adult leadership in the church and other environments. Cursillo includes a three day weekend, in which a team of laity and priests present the fundamental principles of Christian living (piety, study, action); ongoing small group meetings,in which members make themselves mutually accountable for living these principles; larger meetings (Ultreyas), for sharing and witness; and ongoing exploration of ways in which to bring the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST to all environments through planned action, both as individuals and in groups. The weekend is designed to reaffirm your commitment to Jesus Christ, as well as provide you with leadership tools to assist you in your role as a leader in your particular ministry.
If you want to participate in a Cursillo weekend, you will need a sponsor to submit your application. They will receive notification of acceptance and assist you with the details. Because this weekend and subsequent Cursillo involvement require significant personal dedication, we ask that you pray seriously about your application prior to submitting it to your sponsor. In order to gain the most from the weekend, you should be in the best possible spiritual, emotional, and physical health.
